ALMATY. April 13 (Interfax-Kazakhstan) – Kazakh companies are ready to open terminals in Iran, Kazakh Foreign Minister Erlan Idrissov.

Kazakh companies are ready to open terminals in Iran on the railway crossings, in the south, in the Persian Gulf, Iranian companies are ready to participate in the infrastructure development of Kazakhstan’s Caspian ports, Idrissov said during a Monday briefing in Astana after talks with Iranian Minister of Foreign Affairs Mohammad Javad.
Transport and infrastructure cooperation is important for Kazakhstan, according to Idrissov.
The two sides also discussed cooperation opportunities in agriculture. In particular, there are relevant agreements on the joint production of agricultural products, Idrissov added.
It was reported earlier that in December 2014 Presidents Nursultan Nazarbayev of Kazakhstan, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedow of Turkmenistan and Hassan Rouhani of Iran opened the launch of the Uzen-Bereket-Gorgan rail line. The ceremony took place in Turkmenistan.
The Uzen (Kazakhstan) - Gyzylgaya - Bereket - Etrek (Turkmenistan) - Gorgan (Iran) rail line is 934.5 kilometers long.
Earlier reports said cargo traffic along the new rail line between Kazakhstan, Turkmenistan and Iran might reach 15 million tonnes by 2020.
