Sale of foreign currency by public sector and carry trade push tenge exchange rate higher, posing risks to Kazakhstan's economy – analysts
ASTANA. Dec 2 (Interfax-Kazakhstan) - The tenge has been steadily strengthening against the dollar since October, following a multi-month period of weakening. The Kazakh currency experienced dramatic drops in late July and then again in late September. Since the September low, the exchange rate has risen by 7%, including a 2.5% increase over the last month.
