Earthquake strikes southern Kazakhstan; emergency hotline opened

ASTANA. July 8 (Interfax-Kazakhstan) - An earthquake hit the Zhambyl region in southern Kazakhstan on Tuesday, with tremors ranging from 2 to 6 points felt across twelve settlements, according to the National Scientific Center for Seismological Observations and Research.
