Almaty court jails emergency officials over equipment failure during 2024 earthquake

ALMATY. Nov 3 (Interfax-Kazakhstan) – The military court of the Almaty garrison has sentenced three deputy heads of the Almaty Department of Emergency Situations to prison terms for negligence that led to the failure of the automated early warning system during the January 2024 earthquake, the Almaty prosecutor’s office said on Monday.
