ALMATY. Dec 23 (Interfax-Kazakhstan) - For Kazakhstan’s oil industry, 2024 turned out to be a year of setbacks and unfulfilled expectations. Plans to increase production at major oil and gas fields fell short, while lengthy maintenance shutdowns—both scheduled and unexpected—disrupted operations. Adding to the challenges were stricter commitments under the OPEC+ agreement, which left little room to push for higher output.
